Cinder by Marissa Meyer
I received this book for free through arcycling
Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
This book was kind of weird...but I COULD NOT STOP READING!! It completely captivated me. I was so curious about how things would end up throughout the whole book. There are so many different pieces of the story occurring at the same time that it really keeps you on your toes.
I love Cinderella, so I loved the fairy tale part of the story. The futuristic technology part was confusing at times, but overall it was cool to see. I think it was a really creative idea.
I loved Cinder. She was so strong and had such courage. I was definitely rooting for her throughout the whole book. Kai was a sweetheart and I was very intrigued by the romance part of the book. I think this book was so well written! The only thing I did not like was not knowing the rest of the story and having to wait for the next book!!
